Diversifying Boise's Economy Through Urban Renewal
Boise's newly proposed

Gateway East District

Anticipated to be Boise’s next redevelopment district, the Gateway East Study Area holds opportunity to diversify Boise’s economy, create quality jobs, and plan for industrial growth by improving infrastructure and promoting industrial development in and around Boise’s Airport Planning Area.

The City of Boise has directed Capital City Development Corporation (CCDC), Boise’s redevelopment agency, to proceed with the Gateway East District formation process. Initial investigations began in 2001 and resumed in 2018. Formal adoption of the proposed Gateway East District is anticipated to be complete before calendar year-end 2018.

What is Urban Renewal?

The process where a previously developed area is improved and rehabilitated into a vibrant urban neighborhood.

Proposing a District

Anticipated to be Boise’s next urban renewal district, the Gateway East Study Area holds opportunity to solve public infrastructure deficiencies and revitalize the area.

Be Part of the Process

Establishing a District is a multi-step public process that relies on input and feedback from the general public, key stakeholders, consultants, and agency partners.
